Special Delivery Tuesday, May 1, 2012
By: Jo Kaplan
Delivering goods all over Israel with only one truck, you can imagine how we must plan deliveries prudently to accommodate the schedules of more than 30 aid centers and nearly 90 institutions. It's easy to adhere to those schedules no matter what, however, every once in a while God changes our carefully structured plans.
A few weeks ago, we truly believed the Lord told us to stop everything and deliver one certain product around the country. Over the years we've learned to listen to His directives, even though we don't always hear the stories of how God impacts a life because of these "Special Deliveries". However, one of the aid workers, Stewart, shared one sweet story.
"When I learned your truck was coming down on Wednesday," Stewart explained, "I was a bit troubled because I had asked to be delivered on any other day than Wednesday." In the rush, he reluctantly agreed to the special delivery, "I thought you were bringing the beds and chairs I had asked for."
That Wednesday morning, God began peeling away the layers of inconvenience to reveal a precious treasure. It began when a young woman came in to apply for food aid and asked if the center could help with diapers as well. Normally Stewart's center didn't have a stock of diapers on hand. Still they took her information and regretfully sent her on without fulfilling her need for the diapers.
Stewart went on to say, "At 12:30 or so your truck arrived with the delivery. To my complete surprise, when I walked outside, it was not the beds and chairs, but a pallet with boxes on it." He wasn't prepared for what was contained in those boxes, "As I opened the first one up and saw diapers, all I could do was praise God. As we opened the rest of the boxes we were all blown away by the diapers you had sent us. We sorted them out by size and we had the sizes the woman had needed who had come in earlier."
Imagine being able to joyfully call this mother and boldly tell her God had provided for her and her child. Later that afternoon, as Stewart reflected on the event, he said, "It came to me that God had answered this lady's plea for help before she ever asked for it. You see, by the time she had come in, the truck was already on the road on the way down with the diapers she needed!" And that's exactly what he told this young mother the next day when she picked up the diapers.
Carrying out her bundles of "God's love in action", and with misty eyes she thanked Stewart.
Stewart returned the thanks by saying, "I just wanted to let you know how God is using you . . . to show His love to His children. Toda raba [Hebrew for: Thank you very much]!"
I want to echo that gratitude: first, to God for allowing us to partner with Him in this great work, and second, for all of you who continue to partner with us as we work for the restoration of Israel. God bless you!
Prayer Needs: Please pray for this precious mother and her family that these seeds of love from God would bear much fruit. Please continue to remember all of us who labor with you for the restoration of Israel. And always, please pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).
For every $1 given approximately
$10 of goods are delivered
to the needy in Israel!

What you may not know is that Israel and the Jewish people
have also contributed other blessings over the centuries such
as amazing medical and technological advances that have saved
lives and protected countries—including the U.S.
Even in the midst of all their
challenges with persecution, terrorism, threats of war and
natural disasters, they continue
to bless the world—because that is their
